The invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq are not part of a strategy to fight terrorism, but to seize a good part of the existing oil reserves on the planet.
All this nonsense about weapons of mass destruction, evil dictators, liberation, and so on is just a smoke screen to deceive the public.

It's the same scam, but with different playersby Leon Fisher, Unknown News

Fighting terrorism in Afghanistan and in Iraq is about as futile as was fighting communism in Vietnam. The latest bad news from the Mideast more American dead and wounded, along with a photo of a dead soldier lying on a street in Mosul, belies the claims of the Bush administration that we are winning this so-called war.
America was told by Lyndon Johnson back in the 1960s that if we did not fight and sacrifice in Vietnam, all of southeast Asia would fall like so many dominos to the communists. Very frightening, but totally untrue. The truth of the matter was that Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnamese leader, spent his entire life fighting to free his country of foreign occupation, not to conquer his neighbors.

As it turned out, after 50,000-plus U.S. troops were dead and hundreds of thousands wounded, along with the millions of Vietnamese killed and wounded, we learned that the Gulf of Tonkin incident, which U.S. leadership used to justify the war, was a hoax.

We were lied to then, and we are being lied to now.
The invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq are not part of a strategy to
fight terrorism, but to seize a good part of the existing oil reserves
on
the planet. All this nonsense about weapons of mass destruction, evil
dictators, liberation, and so on is just a smoke screen to deceive the
public.
Exploiting Sept. 11 to launch these wars of conquest and to squelch
dissent is going to backfire, as we are beginning to see. By brutally
invading and occupying Islamic countries, we create legions of new
terrorists, sacrificing our military men and women who would never
believe they could be thrown away like this to profit the military-industrial complex and big oil interests.
Unfortunately, the fraud
which
is being perpetrated upon us now is not much different then what
happened almost forty years ago. It's the same scam, but with different
players, and a public just as vulnerable to the lies of corrupt
leadership and its willing accomplices in the corporate controlled
press.
I hate to say it, but before this is over many thousands of American
soldiers will be dead, as well as the many Afghans and Iraqis already
killed. There is no light at the end of this tunnel as long as the
dollar drives our ship of state.
