When in the course of human events it becomes crystal clear and overtly apparent that our Commander in Chief along with the entire Executive Branch of government have gone over the line and are proven certifiably insane, then ‘we the people’ are left with no other choice but to demand of our Congress that they do the Constitutional thing and impeach and remove the whole lot of them.
When our future is mortgaged and our children are enslaved to a national debt that is staggering beyond believability, for no other reason than to enrich the personal friends of our Commander in Chief,
When our national treasury is stolen right before our very eyes, to pay for a war that was started for no logical reason,
When lies and deceit are the root cause of death and innocents are the victim of military precision,
When torture is deemed to be above American law, when American law is subverted, then ‘we the people’ must in all good conscience, present our grievances at the halls of our Congress.
When morality and civic duty are mistaken as being unpatriotic, when upholding our first and foremost amendment is deemed to be unpatriotic, when blind support of madness is deemed to be patriotic, then ‘we the people’ must rise up in loud vocal protest: Enough madness is enough.
When our Constitutional right of free assembly is harassed by the local authorities, when police deny us the right to gather en mass to support a more sane solution to war, when conscience is deemed to be less than human, then ‘we the people’ must start over again and remake the very fabric of our government.
Eleven score and eight years ago, our fathers envisioned a rational union of men and government. To their shame, we stand now condemned, having failed in the struggle for a more perfect union, having succumbed to the insanity of greed, having allowed a corporate mentality to subvert the American system, having allowed our values to be commercialized.
Our forefathers must wonder how their sacrifice and toil could have produced a monstrosity such as this. They racked their brains to come up with a new ideal for humanity and government, they didn’t include corporate America. Our forefathers shed their blood so that we might enjoy a new freedom; instead we enjoy a new threat level security index. They gave us freedom, and we’ve used it to buy a new TV, hypnotized by beautiful commercials.
We pursue happiness through jobs we hate. Resources go in and product comes out, and the CEO’s make all of the money.
We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men and women are created smarter than sheep. That to be lied to by our leaders in government, is far less than we deserve.
We do not deserve to be cheated in our taxing system by corporate America, who do everything they can to avoid paying their fair share, to be forced into carrying a burden that is grotesque and disproportionate across the classes.
These actions are un-American and they are wholly unconstitutional. These are actions that have been wholly supported by our Congress.
Truth is the light that dispels all evil and disposes of wicked tyranny; therefore ‘we the people’ must demand that our Congress speak truth. In the open and public places, in the daily workings of our government, truth must be the standard that rules our land.
The shedding of our military’s blood must happen only with good reason. To sacrifice our nation’s youth for a lie and false leadership dishonors the very words that are our nation’s founding.
I have a dream that political leaders must be held accountable, for accountability could go a long way to right the misdeeds of errant politicians. Politicians at times are like rats in the dark, avoiding the light of scrutiny. Accountability is a bright light of examination and there is no politician that is above it.
Humanity is endowed by some creator with certain unalienable rights. The right to be free to participate in an open society and the right to a fair taxation. The right to be free of lying politicians. The right to be free from corporate manipulations. The right to a job with a livable wage. The right to a world without borders. The right to a world that has set aside violence. The right to be free from hate. The right to be free to pursue a goal and the right to an education. The right to be free of religious intolerance. The right to be free from discrimination. The right to be free to choose and love whomever is in compatibility with the person that is doing the loving. The right to be free to human expression however that expression must be. These rights are not ignoble or something to be ignored. These rights are fair and just.
If ‘we the people’ do not lead, then we shall be led -- and not necessarily by leaders that are deserving of trust.
If ‘we the people’ lay claim to freedom, then freely we must reject any and all claim to leadership that does not meet the standard of truth.
There is still time to honor this nation’s founders and principles by reclaiming our government, but there is not an unlimited amount of time. If our beacon of freedom that is a light to the world is allowed to dim, then our world will plunge into an abyss of darkness.
