The business of America is business and big business has crept in and not only changed American government, they have taken the government away from the American people.
If you doubt my word on any of this, try and contact your state’s Senator or your home district’s Congressperson.
See if you can walk into their offices for an unannounced meeting.
See if you can get one of them to return a phone call.
See if you can get one of them to support some vital environmental legislation -- legislation that just might spare the life of one of your children.
See if you can get one of them to listen to your concerns about the miserable state of your financial situation.

I am willing to bet that there are more Americans that are one missed paycheck away from complete disaster, than there are that are not.
Think about it, are you really getting any tax relief?
Is your take home pay growing larger on payday?
Are you able to pay for the consumer extravagance that commercial America has lured you into purchasing?
Do you have enough medical insurance that is affordable and will support you should the big cancer devastate you or a loved one?

George W. Bush, king/president of the United States of America, is a problem. Bush is also working a messianic delusion like he was proud of it. He is caught in an administration of lies, deceit, murder, theft, sedition, subversion, and self-denial. Bush also kills frogs and abuses older Americans but, that can keep for another time.
The United States Congress is THE problem.
The members of the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate have cashed in their chips of responsible leadership, years ago. The collective members have literally sold their seats in Congress to the highest corporate/special interest bidder.
Congress is no longer representative of the American people. Congress represents big money concerns i.e., military industrial concerns, pharmaceutical concerns, energy concerns, HMO concerns, media concerns, and the people’s concerns, well, Congress is not concerned. The American people merely pay the bills and that is it.
Corporations pay almost no taxes (and don’t take my word for this, check the tax returns). Congress has exempted America’s corporations from paying their fair share of taxes, thus the bills fall on the American people.
Don’t be snowed under by the rhetoric that spews from the mouth of George Bush about tax cuts being good for the American people. Bush’s tax cuts are the very tax cuts approved by the U.S. Congress and these cuts benefit corporate America. Taxpaying Americans enjoy very little real relief.
There were some drastic changes made to the American structure and the American people were so busy watching Survivor and American Idol and running out to buy a new SUV, they missed exactly what it was that Congress was doing to America.
Welcome to the new Corporate States of America.
After all, the business of America is business and big business has crept in and not only changed American government, they have taken the government away from the American people.

Cancer is on the rise in America and there is more than a little speculation that a lot of this cancer is environmentally triggered. Is your food safe? Every time you eat a big juicy burger, do you consider the possibility of ’mad cow disease’? Mercy, that would be a horrible way to die.
The Department of Agriculture has hidden all of the pertinent information and shielded the agro-businesses from any responsibility regarding ’mad cow’. Congress stood by and watched and collected their blood money from the agro-business lobby. Ask your Congressperson if they have aided the agro-business lobby of late.
Yes, the American government has changed and it is not for the better. Consider that the Social Security Fund is empty. Where do you think the government has been getting their money? The Fund is dried up and spent.
DO NOT take my word for this, check into the ACTUAL numbers for yourself. See if you can get your Congressperson to answer questions about the liquidity of the Social Security Fund. Ask your Congressperson if our government has been using the Fund to pay for the Iraq war and ask them about the I.O.U.’s that Congress has put into the Fund instead of actual tax dollars that come out of your paycheck on payday.
Do it! Get up and drag yourself to the telephone and call your Congressperson right now.
This is your America, go see if all is well on the home front. Go and ask them if America’s fiscal house is in order. Do it and do it right now, or don’t ever complain about your taxes again. Do it or don’t complain about the content of television or the fact that your local radio stations suck beyond all suck-ability. Put down the remote and ask your Congressperson why the world hates America and why our soldiers are really dying in Iraq. Ask your Congressperson why America should shield Israel from censure at the United Nations.
Did you know that America’s really good ally and friend Israel cut a young woman in half with a bulldozer? Israel used an American bulldozer to accomplish this little atrocity AND the young woman was an...AMERICAN! The young woman’s name was Rachel Corrie, and I believe that she was one of the bravest protesters, ever. Ask your Congressperson if they support Israel’s brutality on young American protesters.
Ask your Congressperson if they support the Bush administration awarding sweetheart construction deals to Dick Cheney’s Halliburton? Yes, Halliburton still belongs to Dick Cheney.
Ask your Congressperson if they support the lies that the Bush administration used to start the preemptive war on Iraq.
Ask your Congressperson why the U.S. Senate is afraid to let America see the remaining pictures of the torture that happened at Abu Ghraib prison.
See if you can get your Congressperson to respond to you on or about anything.
Ask your Congressperson why they have just voted to raise the American debt limit. Yup, your Congress is now going to borrow an amazing amount of mortgaged money. The national debt will rise to about $20 trillion dollars. Can you even imagine 20 trillion?
Ask your Congressperson how in the hell, our children will pay for such a staggering debt. Your children will pay this debt and their children and their children and, ask your Congressperson how they look at themselves in the mirror in the morning.
There is one and only one obvious remaining solution for the corporatizing of America and our Congress. The election of 2004. Every U.S. Representative in the U.S. House of Representatives is standing for election. America, you must hold each and every one of them accountable and show them the door. Clean the House empty and let us start over.
Elect Representatives that will listen to the American people. Elect Representatives that will hold the Bush administration accountable. Elect Representatives that will not spend America into oblivion.
With only 1/3 of the U.S. Senate standing for election, that will be a continuing process but, let America clean house there also.
If you value America, our history, our future, and our children, DO IT! Our children deserve far better than what our Congress is willing to leave them at present.
