The U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Report -- The U.S. Intelligence Community’s Pre-war Intelligence Estimate on Iraq:
I managed to gut through this epistle to sheer ineptitude, but it was a struggle. I laughed, I cried, it became a part of me. I can’t wait for "he U.S. Intelligence Community’s Pre-war Intelligence Estimate on Iraq -- the movie." I’m willing to bet there is a serious bidding war between Fox and possibly Viacom, to produce the movie by fall 2004. It may star Chuck Norris but, that is just an guess.
The entire 580+ pages can be boiled down to this:. overstated
. were not supported by
. a series of failures
. did not accurately describe
. BLACKED OUT
. did not have enough information to state with certainty
. failure of the IC to accurately analyze
. the IC did not know
. BLACKED OUT
. and in Conclusion 117, a great big whoops and sorry about that.
What a colossal wagon load of crap.
This whitewash of the glaringly obvious is the very best that the United States Senate could produce? Oh mercy people, we are in soooo much trouble. The report does not accurately reflect the depth to which the government of the U.S. has its collective head impaled up its colon.
1000 American service personnel have been murdered because someone overstated a series of failures? The last count that I was able to verify of American wounded was over 12,000. I believe that the Iraqi losses are close to 25,000 killed and twice that number are mutilated. All because, ‘BLACKED OUT’ couldn’t ‘state with certainty’ that ‘a series of failures’ caused something to ‘BLACKED OUT’.
I must direct this to the fine members of the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence: Who are you trying to kid? Give ‘we the people’ a little credit for being at least as intelligent as your common barn fly.
America is supposed to buy this boo-schwah? Look, George Bush lied to America. Dick Cheney lied to America. Colin Powell lied to America. I will spare the reader the usual litany of suspects and co-conspirators and the outright seditious.
Please, Senators, you dishonor the dead and wounded. You trivialize the Iraqi dead and wounded.
You sat in your posh chambers and did the demagogic necessity. You refused to allow Hans Blix to finish the U.N. inspections. You were all silent when Bush went to the United Nations and lied. You all remained silent when Colin Powell went to the United Nations and made a complete lying ass of himself. You sat up on command from our Commandante el Supremo and in lockstep with lies every last one of you voted ‘aye’ on the resolution to allow Buckaroo to run insanely all over Iraq.
The Honorable Senator Robert Byrd was the sole dissenting vote. Senator Byrd is the only Senator that can hold the title of Honorable.
And now America is supposed to consider this Senate report to be of value? Are we supposed to believe that the monstrously huge and hanging questions are answered? All ninety nine of you need to go and run your insipid tripe on the grieving mothers who have made the ultimate sacrifice for America. Land of the free and home of the brave? Senators, your report is cowardice at its worst.
Dump this entire mess on George Tenet and the CIA, hmmm...I wonder why Tenet quit? It’s the CIA -- did anyone think that the CIA didn’t already know about this report? I’ll bet that intelligence was right on the money.
Senator Pat Roberts of Kansas, so Mr. Light Bulb Head, how does it feel to be the front man for a gang of murderers that are so vile and evil, America has never seen the likes of them before? Liars and thieves, ne’er-do-wells and scoundrels, an administration that is totally corrupt and without morals. You are the dog on point for this one.
As I wallowed through this official report, this morass of obfuscation, all of the anger that I had experienced at the outbreak of the Iraq blitzkrieg came rushing back with a vengeance and then some. There were a huge number of patriotic Americans that were in dissent to Bush’s madness. We were labeled as the “traitors”, the “un-American”, “those who gave comfort to the enemy”. And how about the Dixie Chicks? Brave women and damn fine Americans. I never liked country music and I still don’t, but I sure do like the Dixie Chicks. Their music rocks.
Gentlemen of the United States Senate, this report is not going to cut it. You will not whitewash or lie your way out of your responsibility to the American people. You will not throw the blame for the Iraq disaster on the CIA.
Where in the hell was Condoleeza Rice and the National Security Council? Isn’t she Bush’s main squeeze for national security? Didn’t she ask if they'd gotten the Iraq intelligence straight? She is supposed to be some kind of intellectual powerhouse from Stanford and la-dee-dah, but she seems mostly stupid now.
Gentlemen of the Senate, the blame falls squarely on the Bush administration. It is public record that George and Dick and Donald and Paul and Douglas and Scooter and what kind of a name is Scooter, and that endless list of players again. They all to a man wanted to blitzkrieg Iraq BEFORE September 11, 2001 even happened.
Oh-oh, that damn nasty public record, laying open for anyone to read if they have half a mind to, pity isn’t it. Gotcha home-boyz! Explain that miserable fact to the grieving mothers of America’s fallen. Explain that fact to the mothers of the soldiers that get to watch what should have been productive and happy years, now be traumatized and tortured by rehabilitation that will take in some cases, an entire lifetime.
Rehab is a grueling, excruciating, demanding, expensive, and freaking brutal work. These soldiers and their loving families were dragged into this experience because of , “failure of the IC to analyze” and “the intelligence community did not know”? BULLSHIT!
I will scream it again and again and from the highest mountain that I can find. Gentle men of the U.S. Senate, this is NOT ACCEPTABLE! Goddamn you, this is not acceptable! Stop lying to the American people and stop lying right now. The entire Iraqi blitzkrieg was Bush’s idea and responsibility and stop all of this mindless nonsense.
Impeach our President Son-of-a-Bitch and do it now.
If America’s Declaration of Independence means anything at all, if America’s Constitution means anything at all, if our soldiers mean anything at all, if our children mean anything at all, and if our future means anything at all, lay down your partisan ideologies and do the American decent thing: Hold this president accountable for the murderer he is.
