The what if game
by Don Nash, Unknown News
March 15, 2005
What if the United States Supreme Court had followed constitutional law after the election 2000 and Al Gore was now our president? What if the same query applied following the election 2004?
What if Dick Cheney really had a human heart? You know, a human heart that could express some simple compassion, understanding, kindness, an intolerance for corruption. Not that shriveled black lump that is wired to a computerized rhythm machine that is in his chest now.
What if the United States hadn’t turned weenie on the Kyoto Accord?
What if the United States was still committed to nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation?
What if the United States had actually for once told the Israeli government to get their uncivilized government behaviors into some international civilized compliance?
What if the United States treated the Muslim nations exactly as the U.S. government treats the Israelis?
What if the United States hadn’t adopted a policy of torturing ‘suspected terrorists’? What if the United States hadn’t adopted a policy of illegally detaining ‘enemy combatants’ and then subjecting them to torture? What if the United States hadn’t turned uncivilized and barbaric? What if we get back to this game later?
What if the United States had a Congress that wasn’t on its knees in front of the U.S. chief executive? The ‘what if’ applies equally to the House and the Senate.
What if the United States had a government that wasn’t in the pocket of corporate America? What if the Republican Party AND the Democratic Party hadn’t whored themselves out to corporate America? Howard Dean, that includes you -- freaking sell out.
What if the United States still had media that reported the truth, the hard investigative reporting of fact. What if the United States had media that uncovered deceit, corruption, collusion, election fraud, military genocide, presidential incompetence, and governmental bribery?
What if the American people weren’t so enamored with their SUVs?
What if the American people woke up to the fact that they are no better than economic slaves?
What if the American people had actual health care coverage that was affordable?
What if the American people didn’t have to worry about the cancers that are becoming an epidemic in the U.S.? What if the U.S. had an environment that was healthy and safe to live in? What if the U.S. didn’t have to worry about environmental triggers and all of that cancer that has suddenly raised its terminal head?
What if the world didn’t have to worry about the Avian Flu?
What if the big pharmaceutical concerns gave those that are marking time with HIV, the drugs that are needed to combat the disease and prevent its turning into AIDS? What if the millions that are sentenced to die with the HIV/AIDS bug, suddenly became the focus of one colossal humanitarian gesture by the pharmaceutical companies? What if this colossal humanitarian gesture didn’t cost the companies hardly a cent?
What if we didn’t have to worry about the food we all have to eat. What if genetically modified foods aren’t found safe after all? What if they are found safe?
What if things don’t change?
What if the WTO wasn’t about corporate empire?
What if Bono becomes head of the World Bank? What if Bono sells out? What if Bono has to use his real name after he is head of the World Bank?
What if the world were not so nauseatingly fascinated by genocide? What if the world actual did something anything, when genocide raises its scythe?
What if the United Nations were not so enamored with the hypocrisy of diplomatic debate? What if Kofi Annan, as Secretary-General of the U.N., had some real authority over the member states?
What if the uniform leadership of the United States military hadn’t fallen prey to treason? What if traitorous civilians hadn’t been planted in the Department of Defense to pass as supposed leadership?
What if the Army hadn’t sacked General Shinseki?
What if America discovers that it needs its military? It does happen from time to time. What if America discovers that our ready reserve has been gutted and made ineffectual due to the manipulations of the treasonous scum that are ensconced in the Department of Defense at present?
What if Israel wasn’t spying on America using the very scum that are destroying our military? What if Israel is running a hidden agenda?
What if Paul Wolfowitz gets fragged?
What if our military never recovers from the workings of Dr. Death Rumsfeld?
What if George W. Bush hadn’t lied America into a preemptive war of aggression on Iraq?
What if the “divine voices” that Bush is hearing are really satanic? What if, after America is raped, plundered, drilled, soiled, and depleted, Bush’s Jesus doesn’t come back?
What if America had a Congress that would hold accountable lying slugs like Attorney General al-Berto Gonzales? What if Abu Gonzales hadn’t been sending poor bastards to parts unknown to be tortured? What if al-Berto Abu Gonzales hadn’t sanctioned torture in the first place? What if tortures and illegal detentions are really no different than any other terrorism practiced by the numerous Abu’s and al-Whatever’s in the world? What if “renditions” are in fact nothing more than democratic government gone insane?
What if no one stands up to our government that is locked into a process of corrupt implosion?
What if White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan enjoys having George W. Bush’s hand jammed up his rectum? What if that explains the curiosity of the Guckert/Gannon affair and an alleged gay prostitution ring involving high officials in American government? What if Scott McClellan enjoys being the colonoscopic meat puppet for George Bush?
What if McClellan hadn’t validated the torture renditions by stating from the White House “the procedures were part of a strengthened war on terrorism”...?
What if McClellan hadn’t stated “we have an obligation to the American people to gather intelligence that will help prevent attacks from happening in the first place”...? What if no one told McClellan that his denials are in fact an admission of the White House involvement in torture? What if no one told McClellan that torture is barbaric and it’s against the Geneva Convention? What if McClellan doesn’t have a sense of the gravity of his admissions? What if George W. Bush sent his Bush-berry dough boy out to ‘meet the press’ thinking that McClellan would further obfuscate the torture dilemma?
What if George W. Bush never realizes how morally defunct he has become?
What if the American people never wake up to discover the tyranny and horror that Bush is working on America and the world?
What if Bush’s next preemptive war on whomever, triggers the “put down the playground bully” response from some other nation that is feeling up to the task of knocking a punk-ass bully smooth out?
What if our planet is engulfed in World War III?
The ‘what if’ game can be an intricate and complex little ritual. Twists, turns, guilt by association, guilt by admission, guilt by ignorance, and so many possibilities.
What if our Congress actually wakes up and does its Constitutional duty and holds this president and his administration to account? What if our Congress actually impeaches this lying bastard of a president?
What if the American people wake up and actually demand that our Congress deal with the corruption within Congress and within the Executive Branch?
What if Major League Baseball comes to its senses and gives America back its “national pastime?” What if MLB comes to the realization that they must tell McGuire, Bonds, and Giambi to officially piss off and they can forget about their records?
Not frickin' likely but -- what if?
