Let's play ... LOS ANGELES POLICEMAN OF THE WORLD

If you like what we do,
please
help us do it.
The rules of the game:

All nations are always eligible for American actions. This color-coded list of nations bombed, invaded, or toppled by the U.S. is for contestants' convenience only.

[Los Angeles policeman of the world]
Predictions for overt action cannot be nations where the U.S. military is already deployed. So this morning, you can't guess Afghanistan, Algeria, Chad, Haiti, Iraq, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, the Philippines, or Tunisia (tune in tomorrow for updates).

Date of covert action will be the date said covert action is first reported in the mainstream media, not the date of the actual covert action (since we the people don't hear of such shenanigans till years after the fact, if ever).

Also, please pick an exact month, date, and year (not just 'Springtime' or 'within the next few years').

God bless America, but God, His/Her dependants and employees are not eligible to participate in this contest.

Limit one entry per person, please.

Remember, when America plays "Los Angeles Policeman of the World," the next round is always underway before you know it...

You too could be a winner!

We hope you have more fun playing this game than the people in these countries have when the US plays for real!

Corrections to the list are welcome; just drop us an email.

Thanks, Jerry and Kathleen V., for corrections and further information.

And for those who scratch their heads or become furious wondering why we're playing this game, our answer is here.

How to play
Los Angeles
Policeman of the World

Simply send an email to unknownnews at inbox.com, picking the date and nation of America's next overt action, and the date and nation of America's next covert action.

One-by-one, as nations are bombed by America, or their leaders assassinated by American agents, their governments toppled by the CIA, etc., the player who picks the next unlucky target country and the closest-to-correct date will receive a glamorous trip for two to that very nation (not really)!  Or maybe a mock-up of Henry Kissinger's impressive Nobel Peace Prize.

Or, who knows, our winner could quite possible receive only the fame and fortune of being announced as winner. Depends on our budget and mood.

Recent winners have received two bumper stickers of their choice.

Hey, if you need help making
your picks, it might help if
you bone up on the history of
U.S. foreign policy.

Past winners:
2/24/2007:
Congratulations to PJ of Los Angeles, who predicted overt action by American forces in Ethiopia on May 1, 2007. Though the action in Ethiopia was covert (reported by the New York Times on 2/24/2007 as having happened in January 2007), nobody else picked Ethiopia at all, so PJ wins.

1/11/2007:
Congratulations to Rebecca of Boise, who predicted overt action by American forces in Iraq on January 10, 2007, "to coincide with the President's speech". Rebecca was only off by just one day, as American forces stormed and seized the Iranian consulate (Iranian territory, under international law) in Irbil, Iraq on Thursday, January 11.

3/17/2004:
Congratulations to Merideth L. of New York City, who predicted overt action by American forces in Morocco on March 1, 2004. Merideth was only off by two weeks.

3/1/2004:
Congratulations to Randy of Durham NC, who predicted overt action by American forces in Haiti during April 2004. Randy was only off by a month or so.

4/10/2003:
Congratulations to Mark Z., who predicted overt action by American forces in the Philippines during April 2003, and was only off by a few weeks.
