Guide to U.S. foreign policy:  Think of it as a 'world tour'

48 nations have received overt action from America -- guns, bombs, soldiers, etc. -- since World War II. At least 22 nations are known to have received covert action from America -- a little assassination here, a little coup there, cash under the table for dictators, etc. In an unknown number of other nations, America's covert actions remain unknown to Americans.
This list provides a very quick overview of the historical foreign policies of the United States.

• America's OVERT ACTIONS are indicated in red (for nations which have been bombed and/or invaded by the United States since the end of WWII) and magenta (for nations which received earlier US military actions).

• America's COVERT ACTIONS are indicated in brown (these are nations known to have had CIA interference in government, or secret US assistance for one side or the other in civil wars, or CIA-sponsored assassinations, or US-installed puppet leaders, etc., since WWII).

• OTHER NATIONS are indicated in black (these are nations which may or may not have had covert CIA actions on their soil, but if so, documentation remains classified).

Of course, a list like this is absolutely certain to be incomplete, since the CIA rarely issues press releases to brag about overthrowing another democratically-elected leader. This list is also certain to be outdated soon and often, as long as the "Los Angeles Policeman of the World" remains on patrol.

For those who scratch their heads or become furious wondering why we've presented this information, here's our answer.
